Yummilicious Feast @ Icon Village

13 Jun

First thing is first! I would love to thank OMY http://www.omy.sg/ for giving me this opportunity and also for all the restaurant staff who welcomed me very warmly!

On Saturday, June 11th 2011, I attended Yummilicious Feast @ Icon Village 🙂  You might be wondering what it is….Well, I’ve got an opportunity to visit 8 different places to try their food!! SUPER NICE isn’t it??!!! AND I really do want to share the AMAZING information of those places with you guys 😉 The followings are my comments and details of the restaurants! Enjoy 🙂

1. KUMO Japanese Kaiseki Restaurant (Tel: 6225 8433) www.kumokaiseki.com.sgTried Sushi (lightly torched sea bream, crystal bay prawn, pike eel, octopus, sea urchin). I must confess that I was little bit disappointed with the dryness of the rice and seafood however the texture and freshness of the sea urchin (Uni) was pretty good! When you eat bad sea urchin it gives you an unpleasant smell but this sea urchin was smooth and gave me no bad smell at all 🙂

2. SALTA Argentine Parrilla + Grocer (Tel: 6225 8443) www.saltaparrilla.com.sgTried Parrillada: Mixed grill : Beef sirloin 200gm, Beef skirt 200gm, Chicken Thigh 250gm, Black Hog Pork Loin 200gm, Pork Sausage 140gm, Lamb Rack 180gm, Grilled Capsicum, Baby Corn, Carrot & Zucchini Baked Rosemary Garlic potatoes with 3 different kind of sauce. The chicken was slightly over cooked and dry however the others were cooked pretty well, all tender and juicy 🙂 All sauces were AMAZING and well matched with the meats 😉

3. Pizzeria L’Operetta Tried Bismark Pizza – wood oven pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella & parmesan cheese, ham, mushrooms & egg. It tasted great! Very balanced taste, not too heavy nor oily. Fresh texture.

4. Ramen Culture (Tel: 6222 5110) www.fnbculture.sgTried Ox-Tail Ramen & Hot-Stone Tsuke Men. I wasn’t a huge fan of the noodles themselves, they weren’t very fresh I must say….Hot-Stone Tsuke men might be good for the person who like salty and spicy food, I’m pretty sure lots of people would like Ox-Tail Ramen! It’s like a light textured broth 🙂

5. Muffets Room (Tel: 6410 9353) www.muffetsroom.comTried Fish & Chips & Pasta: A little bit too much sauce compare with the portion of the pasts and also the pasta wasn’t al dente. However, this place’s Fish & Chips were AMAZING! The fish was juicy and moist.

6. Whips Cupcakes (Tel: 6222 5432) www.whipscupcakes.comTried Red Velvet Cupcakes: The person who loves thick cream would LOVE these reasonable 1 S$ mini cupcakes! They literally gave me a little day dream 😉

7. Pâtisserie Glacé (Tel: 6400 0247) www.cakeglace.comTried 20 Rin Rin Ice Cheese Tarts, Cheese Tart (with strawberry), Strawberry cake and Chocolatier Taste Cake. I thought the Strawberry Cake and Chocolatier Cake were very light in texture and there was nothing very special about them though both Ice Cheese Tarts and the Cheese Tart (with strawberry) were gorgeously rich but not too sweet.

8. Frost Bites (Tel: 6225 0585) www.facebook.com/frostbitescafeTried Frozen yogurt with 2 toppings: How could this desert be bad?! Just simply yummy and refreshing 🙂 Friendly for the people who are on a diet.

There are nice promotions are going on at Icon Village at moment http://www.iconvillage.com.sg/home/index.aspx?key=promotions, those promotions are until July 31st! Hurry up and enjoy fab foods 🙂
